Career Human Relations Educators and Social Work/Ministers Crawford and Dienst Offer Relationship Skills Development Seminar (Exploring Ourselves and Our Relationships With Others) for living, loving and being productive in the 21st Century

Chandler, AZ -- May 22, 2004 -- Before you invest time and emotions in relationships you are unprepared for, check with career human relations educators and social work/ministers Oscar Crawford, M.Div. and Bonnie Dienst - Crawford, BSW. Whether you are at the beginning of your adult relationship life or at the point you must admit you need some help getting it right, Crawford and Dienst can not only help you clarify your relationship values but help you plot a course to successful, intimate and organizational relationships.

No newcomers to human relations, Crawford and Dienst have more than 30 years experience teaching relationship development skills to individuals, couples and groups.  EXPLORING was developed to respond to the need for creating best practices in developing diversity for the public sector workplace.  It begins with the individuals who make up teams designed to accomplish organizational communities missions and purposes.

According to Crawford and Dienst, "Relationships unplanned for have limited capacity for successful outcomes.  Relationships end because participants, more often than not, hope for and believe in the fairy tale notions of happily ever after.  When conflict comes, as it always will, they are unprepared to appropriately respond because no agreements have been developed for how it will be functionally managed without threatening the relationship.

EXPLORING focuses on seven areas to maximize the potential for positive relationship outcomes while simultaneously minimizing the potential for conflict.  They are Communication, Self - Acceptance, Self - Awareness, Motivation, Trust, Self - Disclosure, and Conflict Management.

The question that comes the most often is, How do I, or how do we make our relationship better? Our job is to help people ask themselves, as individuals and as groups, the right questions as they explore their relationships, their relationships purpose/s, and the desired outcomes they have for their relationships, whether in casual, intimate, social or organizational context.

Oscar Crawford and Bonnie Dienst - Crawford provide relationship development consultation to individuals and groups.  Both are writers.  He is the author of The Monday Morning Word 2000 and contributor to From One Brother to Another.  Bonnie currently serves as a clinical coordinator to a major mental health services provider in the Greater Phoenix Valley.  She is the author of biblical children stories (Noah Beaver and Mark Mouse) and formerly the Director of Recovery Ministries for a more than 5,000 member urban - centered congregation in Central Ohio.

EXPLORING will be presented FREE to participants attending the seminar Saturday, May 22nd, 2004 from 1030 AM to 3 PM at The Sunset Branch of The Chandler Library.
